National VA Chaplain Service - Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
The National VA Chaplain Service Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Center is now offering Level I/II CPE training as continuing education for current VA staff chaplains who qualify, apply, and are selected.
Our evidence-based, culturally, and theoretically diverse CPE curriculum and faculty will engage and challenge you. We seek to celebrate, refine, and to enhance your already natural, innate, and honed gifts for spiritual care. This will be done through structured weekly educational elements, peer group engagement, and supervision and instruction from experts in the field.
Who?
All VA staff chaplains! Do you need additional units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) to qualify for Board Certification as a Clinical Chaplain? Do you need additional units of CPE for future Certified Education Candidate training opportunities? Are you passionate about continuing to discern, develop, and dedicate time and energies to your clinical chaplaincy skills and craft?

The National VA Chaplain Service CPE Center offers ongoing bi-annual (Fall-Winter, Spring- Summer) opportunities to apply, interview, and be accepted into this engaging and equipping training.
Where?
The National VA Chaplain Service CPE Center is offering virtual continuing education -level I/II CPE units by highly qualified Certified Educators. The National VA Chaplain Service CPE Center is accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc., the Standard for Spiritual Care & Education. How to Apply?
The following requirements for this level I/II CPE unit include:
- Current VA staff chaplain
- Completed ACPE CPE application
- Successful interview
- Local Chief chaplain or Administrator/Direct report support
